If you’re thinking about getting fitter, learning a new skill, and actually enjoying the process, our Adult Beginner Judo Course could be exactly what you’re looking for.

This course has been specifically designed for adults who are new to judo — including those who have never tried a martial art before. Whether you’re in your 20s, 40s, 60s or beyond, you’ll find a welcoming, pressure-free environment where you can learn at your own pace.

Designed for Beginners — No Experience Needed

Starting something new as an adult can feel daunting, especially if you’re worried about fitness levels or keeping up. That’s why this course is built around progressive learning, safety, and confidence-building.

You’ll be guided step by step through the fundamentals of judo, including:

  • Safe falling techniques (ukemi)

  • Basic throwing skills

  • Holding and control techniques

  • Balance, coordination, and movement

Everything is taught in a structured, beginner-friendly way, so you can take your time and develop confidence week by week.

Suitable for All Ages and Fitness Levels

One of the most common things we hear is:
“I wish I’d started earlier — am I too old now?”

The answer is no.

This Adult Beginner Judo Course is open to adults of all ages and abilities. You don’t need to be fit, flexible, or strong to begin. You’ll work within your own limits, learning safely and gradually improving your strength, mobility, and coordination as the course progresses.

Judo is about technique, balance, and timing — not brute force — making it ideal for adults looking for a sustainable, long-term activity.

A Friendly, Supportive Training Environment

Learning judo should be challenging and enjoyable. Our sessions are relaxed, welcoming, and supportive, with a strong emphasis on mutual respect and encouragement.

Many people choose to:

  • Join with a friend or partner

You’ll train alongside other beginners who are starting from the same place as you.
